SoNapa Grille in New Smyrna Beach, Florida

When you spend time at the beach the last thing you want to do is go back and make a meal. One of my favorite restaurants at the beach is SoNapa Grille. The restaurant is known for great wine, from the Sonoma and Napa Valley, and amazing food. When you walk into the restaurant it has high open ceilings. There are large beams and the restaurant has an open feel. You will see wine barrels above your head on the second floor. The bar is always full and you can sense the laidback relaxed feel from the patrons.

Many of their dishes and drinks can be made gluten-free. If you love wine this is a great place for you to have wonderful wine paredpaired with delectable entrees. SoNapa also has some wonderful mixed drinks. My favorite is their Key Lime Martini. If you let them know you need it gluten-free they will make sure that there are no graham cracker crumbs added to the drink. This drink is amazing. It is like drinking Key Lime pie and a bit of magic.

SoNapa Grille also has several appetizers to choose from. My favorite is the baked Brie appetizer. This will come with Brie, fruit compote, apples, and often gluten-free Schar table crackers. The Brie is warmed up the just the right temperature. It is soft and delicious. The fruit compote adds the perfect amount of sweetness to the Brie.

SoNapa Grille has several options for dinner entrees that can be made gluten-free. Their Highway "29'S" Famous Pork Chop is perfectly cooked. It is juicy and has a mustard sauce that gives it just the perfect amount of flavor. They also offer Filet Medallions, Baby Back Ribs, and a few seafood entrees gluten-free. However, I find myself ordering their gluten-free Alexander Valley pizza. This is made on a cauliflower crust. The Alexander Valley comes with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and olive oil. The crust is cooked to perfection. It is crunchy but not overcooked. The cheese is perfectly melted. I can’t help it; I love a good pizza. As we know when you have celiac this is often hard to find.

I have never had a bad meal here. As someone with celiac, as well as a child with celiac, it is so important to have a wonderful restaurant I can count on being safe every time I visit. So, if you are in New Smyrna Beach around 5:00 p.m., and I’m visiting Florida, you can probably find me at SoNapa Grille. No trip to New Smyrna Beach is complete without at least one visit here.

The good news is that SoNapa Grille has expanded to Ormond Beach and Jacksonville Beach as well as New Smyrna Beach. I highly recommend you stop in for a wonderful meal. Let them know Gluten Free Life & Travels sent you.
